I noticed that when I reload my old posts and journal entries here, I deliberately remove the superlatives and adjectives I used to describe my friends.

I no longer feel like referring to them as my BEST-friends. Nor my Uni-turned-besties, nor the work-cousin-friend, nor as childhood friends.

Here, I call them by their names, or at times as just “friends”.

Why the change? Idk, tbh.

What I know is that the relationships’ superlatives don’t matter much anymore for me.

if I write about you and refer to your name more than a handful of times, it’s safe to assume you already belong in the BEST category, my friend.
